In 1874, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) was established. This union, whose headquarters are in Berne – Switzerland, is the second international institution established after the Telecommunication Union (ITU) in 1865. The UPU is a subsidiary of the United Nations. (UN) responsible for managing the development of International Post activities.
