Good Neighbors Tanzania (GNTZ) is an international field office of GN that has been operating in Tanzania since 2005. Over the years, GNTZ has proven to be a regional leader in competence and expertise when it comes to collaborating with local governments, communities, and a wide range of stakeholders to enhance the standard of living, build community self-sufficiency, and raise the bar in a number of areas, including health, education, water and sanitation, and child rights advocacy by fostering an environment that promotes children’s health and increases access to high-quality education.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MoEVT) in Zanzibar is collaborating with the Good Neighbors Tanzania-Zanzibar Area Office to carry out a three-year (2021–2024) KOICA-funded project titled “Strengthening the capacity of secondary school education through radio educational broadcasting.”
(SRE) initiative. The project’s overarching objective is to improve secondary school education through the participation of Radio Secondary School students.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Therefore, to support the implementation of project activities, particularly in the overall administration component, GNTZ-ZAO, in partnership with the MoEVT, is looking for highly competent, experienced, self-motivated persons with exceptional ethical conduct to join the SRE project assistant officer.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating a report every month and sending it to the M&E officer
- Printing the questionnaires to be used in Listenership tracking is one way to support the logistical preparation for this process.
- Helping the M&E officer with the interpretation and analysis of LST data.
- Scanning the questionnaires used in the action of tracking listenership
- In any designated non-intervention secondary school, the rate of supervision for investigations
- Assisting M&E with the preparation of activity proposals before to the implementation of project activities and Final Spending Summaries following project implementation using Docswave.
- Assist the M&E Officer with the mid-year assessment
- Carry out any additional tasks that SRE Project Officers assign you.
General:
- Respect the MoEVT and Good Neighbors standards and procedures on professionalism, health, safety, and code of conduct.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in social science, project planning and management, community development, development studies, or any other pertinent discipline from any accredited university.
- Job experience in a non-governmental organization of at least one year.
- Proficiency in analyzing research data with multiple software programs, such as SPSS
- High level of proficiency in Kiswahili and written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, as well as the capacity to collaborate with people
- Strong ability to write reports
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel)
- Ask to use your personal laptop for work.

This is an operating assistant officer post that is dependent on the M&E portion of the SRE implementation plan that GNTZ-ZAO provides; this is NOT regular employment. The chosen person will receive two days off per month in addition to a monthly stipend of 250,000/= with no other support (such as housing allowance, meals, or transportation).
