The PMCT (Prevention of Mother to Child HIV Transmission) Project in Tanzania, which will be implemented in five regions (Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Iringa, Mbeya, and Manyara), has several job openings for 2024.

VACANCY: Data Collection Officers – 40 POSTS

Starting with data collection and data entry, the Data Collection Officer will be in charge of administering and entering all baseline, midterm, and end-line surveys linked to the program. Research Officers, who will answer to the Research Manager, will provide direction and oversight to Enumerators while they are working in the field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct studies and gather data using designated techniques
• Conduct thorough research, surveys, and assessments in a particular field; • Properly document and report results;
• Examine given fields and plan a productive path.
• Go to the specified location and hold interviews
• Read paperwork to participants and respond to their inquiries.
• Compile and precisely document answers to the questionnaires that the program team provides.
• Verify that questionnaires have been filled out and examined completely.
• Send completed surveys and other fieldwork-related equipment to the research supervisor, who will, if necessary, synthesize the results in the format specified by the program.
• Take part in briefings; complete data entry, reporting, and/or collection tasks as part of each assignment.
• Identify and describe challenges encountered when collecting data, and offer insightful commentary on field research endeavors.
• Work according to the program needs and on a project by project basis.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Willingness to learn and attempt new things.
• Experience gathering data, distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews;
• Proficiency in Swahili and English, both spoken and understood.

Essential

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong sense of and respect for confidentiality.

Added Advantage

• Practical experience working with victims/ survivors of insurgency.
• Language Skills: (Native/Fluent/Basic)
• English Language (Fluent)
