A PhD SCHOLASHIP ON AGRICULTURE SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR THE PHD SCHOLASHIP

This is a three-year scholarship and selecied PhD candidates will be enrolled at University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and will commence soon after enrolment. The PhD candidate will have at least one supervisor from UDSM and at least one supervisor from an International University depending on the nature of the study. In addition to fees and stipends stipulated in UDSM guidelines, the candidate will be supported to visit his/her international co-supervisor to attend for academic purposes.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Application cover letter.
  • Statement of motivation: The statement should briefly explain the candidate’s Interest and reasons to Join the stated PhD programme.
  • Research proposal concept note (Max 3500 words).
  • Recent Curriculum Vitae.
  • List of publications ( If any); and indicate where they can be accessed.
  • Scanned copies of academic transcripts and certificates.
  • Two recommendation letters. These letters should Include telephone number, addresses and e-mail accounts of the referees. At least one letter of recommendation must be from a senior faculty member of a home Institution who can attest to the candidate’s academic aptitude outlining the candidate’s career and research goals and how the training programme will assist the candidate to achieve the goals.

ELIGIBILITY CRETERIA

  • An applicant should hold a masters degree related to Agriculture and Value Chain from any higher learning institution which Is reeognised by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
  • Have motivation to become a researcher and a scholar in the area of Agriculture Supply Chain Management.
  • Demonstrate fluency in both spoken and written English language.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge and skills in qualitative and quantitative research design and analysis tools e.g. NVlVO, SPSS and STATA.
  • Meet other criteria for acceptance into the UDSM PhD Programme (website: www.udsm.ac.tz).
