INTERNATIONALIZATION AND CONVOCATION UNIT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) is inviting applications from suitably qualified Tanzanian to be considered for internship placement at the Internationalization and Convocation Unit (ICU) at MUHAS.

The ICU Unit at MUHAS is responsible to coordinate all foreign and visiting scholars’ affairs, manage collaborative links as well as coordinating the University Convocation activities.

Responsibilities:

• Help with the weekly activity schedule preparation for the unit.
• Help with the preparation of reports, workshops, and meetings.
• Help with the organization of programs for institutional students to link with scholars and other related programs.
• Support the creation of cooperative initiatives between the University and partner institutions.
• Support the promotion of activities related to university exchange programs, such as creating a media plan for the unit.
• Support the department, school, institute, or directorate in organizing elective courses, short-term training, and other programs.
• Help in arranging the University Convocation events in order to further the goals and operations of the University.
• In addition to reporting to the leader of the unit, they will carry out other tasks as assigned.

Competences:

• The ability to multitask and solve problems in a busy work environment, along with excellent organizational and communication skills, are necessary.
• Self-sufficient and has outstanding time management abilities.
• A keen eye for detail, as well as the capacity for discernment and sound judgment.
• Excellent communication abilities the capacity to communicate with members of a multinational team at all levels of personnel successfully.
• Flexible and team-oriented, with the capacity to react fast to opportunities and demands that change.
• Strong written and oral proficiency in both Swahili and English.
• Computer proficiency (Ms Office, Word, Excel) is a necessity.
• Proficiency with statistical software.
• Having graduated from MUHAS offers an extra benefit.
