Data Field Officers Jobs at Asuta. The Organization of Asasi ya Uwezeshaji Tanzania has secured fund from USAID Heshimu Bahari (Respect the Ocean) to implement a five years project activity that aims to enhance the ecological resilience and productivity of high marine biodiversity areas in Tanzania. The activity will work with government agencies, communities, private sector, and civil society to establish an enabling environment and a science driven framework for sustainable marine protected areas and wild caught fishery co-management to help reduce threats to marine and coastal biodiversity within Mainland Tanzania and the Zanzibar. However, Asuta has been awarded to implement the project in Dar es Salaam and Mtwara seascapes. The following position required to be recruited immediately before the project commence.

Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Support development an ensure availability of study data collection tools.

  1. As needed, produce performance reports and supervise the gathering, collation, data entry, and statistical analysis of high-quality data.
  2. Supportive supervision should be given for entering and gathering data.
  3. When necessary, visit the location to troubleshoot data difficulties.
  4. Create, evaluate, and keep copies of the supporting documentation for data management as well as data collection forms, making sure they are accurately updated when necessary.
  5. Keep up database backups and analyze data filing procedures.
  6. Execute and record data preparation processes, such as data cleansing, data standardization, and data analysis.
  7. As required, take part in data and progress evaluations for the study with the research coordinator and collaborators.
  8. Make sure that inventory is taken promptly and that forms and/or instruments for data gathering are supplied.
  9. The Data Officer will be responsible for providing high quality data entry, data management and quality control of data.
  • In charge of carrying out internal evaluations of the quality of the data and creating plans for enhancing the quality of the data pertaining to information recorded by peer educators, nurses, counselors, and other personnel whose data passes through them before being compiled at the regional level.
  • In charge of offering technical support for data entered with tablets. This will involve educating providers on data entry procedures, helping them troubleshoot issues in the field, and managing the electronic equipment used to gather data.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, have expertise managing data using computers and tablets, and be at ease working in outreach and important population and service delivery places.
  • Furthermore, it is imperative that they uphold the confidentiality of medical records. Records for clients must be retained in cases where no clients
  • Ensure correctness by running outputs and cross-referencing them with the original data source. Additionally, oversee report generation for data management on the designated team.
  • Any additional tasks as assigned by the Seascape Coordinator.

Qualification and Experience

  1. Acquired a degree, advanced diploma, or certificate in a relevant discipline such as data management, computer science, monitoring and evaluation, or statistics.
  2. It is preferred to have two years of expertise with electronic data entry and cleaning for marine fishing activities.
  3. outstanding proficiency with computers, preferably with the Microsoft Office suite, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  4. the capacity to protect sensitive data found in data sources and organization secrecy.
  5. Working in data analysis before is an added benefit.
  6. demonstrated aptitude for leading groups to produce positive health outcomes.
  7. the capacity to build fruitful working connections with international agencies and organizations as well as counterparts.
  8. cognizant of and considerate of the need to collaborate with diverse cultural and behavioral groups in a variety of socioeconomic contexts.
  9. Capacity to build positive relationships with outreach workers and all targeted groups by fostering an environment in the program that is welcoming to all vulnerable and important demographic beneficiaries, regardless of their background and devoid of judgment, discrimination, or stigma.
