The Arusha Regional Referral Hospital was established as a camp to treat the wounded in the first World War in 1915 and was officially launched as a regional hospital on 26.11.1926. It was finally upgraded to a Regional Referral Hospital on 12.11.2010.
This hospital has the capacity to carry 500 beds but currently has 379 beds. The hospital has seven main departments which are the Department of Administration, Emergency and Accident, Maternity, Children, Surgery, Surgery (Orthopedic) and the Department of Medicine. Also, the hospital has sixteen (16) units which are Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, “Anaesthesia”, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Urinary Tract Diseases, Mental Health, Orthopedics, Accounting, Procurement, health INSURANCE, service quality unit (QI) and HDU and Social Welfare Unit.

Arusha Regional Referral Hospital – Mt. Meru would like to announce to all Tanzanians who have the required qualifications and are interested in working at the Ajira Mpya Arusha Referral Hospital – Mount Meru submit their request.
Doctor Class II (10 Positions)
a) Qualifications for employment:
- Employed with a Doctorate Degree from Universities/Colleges recognized by the Government who have completed “Internship” and obtained registration from the Tanganyika Medical Council (Medical Council of Tanganyika).
b) Work and responsibilities
- To do all the medical work in the hospital related to various diseases including children’s diseases, maternal diseases and normal and emergency surgery.
- Providing and managing health education as well as improving community health in Districts and Regions or his work area.
- Investigating, monitoring and preventing disease outbreaks
- Maintaining data and using it as directed in MTUHA principles.
- Planning and evaluating health services in his workplace.
- Teaching students and employees present at the workplace (vii) Supervising and directing the employees under him
- Teaching students in health colleges located in his area of work
- Design and conduct research and disseminate results
- Designing and preparing strategies to improve the quality of service in his field
- Prepare plans and budget estimates for health services
- Participating, reviewing and improving health services (medical audit and quality improvement)
- Provide outreach services in his district/region

Radiographer Class II (1 Position)
(a) Qualifications for employment:
- Employment of Diploma in the field of Technologist Class II – Radiographer from a College recognized by the Government and who are registered with the Council (Medical Radiology and Imaging Professional Council)
(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
- Treating patients who are referred to his work area with the right radiation directed by the Specialist Radiation Doctor
- Taking care of Radiotherapy machines and equipment in his work area
- Inspecting and Managing the quality of radiation emitted by Radioterapia equipment (Radio-therapeutic quality)
- Supervising the employees under him
- Giving Advice on Radiotherapy and Radiation work issues in his work area.
- Preparing medical/diagnostic equipment and managing the cleaning of equipment in his work area (sterilization)
- Provide initial training to employees who are assigned to work in their work area
- To do other tasks that will be assigned by his head of work related to his education, experience and skills.
Accounts Assistant (9 Positions)
(a) Qualifications for employment:
- Employed with a Diploma in Accounting from a college recognized by the Government. Or
- Employed with an ATEC II certificate issued by the NBAA or other equivalent qualifications recognized by the NBAA.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
- Keeping a financial ledger for regular use and development
- Maintaining documentation of payment documents
- Entering income and expenses in the financial books
- Write various financial statements received
- To do other tasks in his field that he will be assigned by his superior.
Technology II-Medicine (2 Positions)
(a) Qualifications for employment:
- Employment of Diploma in the field of Class II Pharmaceutical Technologist from a College recognized by the Government and who are registered with the Council of Pharmacists.

(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews for those served (people with disabilities, the older people, families with problems, children and defendants).
- Conducting an inspection of the environment in which the employees live to obtain their complete information.
- Preparing interview information and inspection of the employees’ environment.
- Receiving and collecting social welfare information from stakeholders and various social welfare centers.
- Receiving and collecting statistics regarding the services of people with disabilities, the older people, child care and families with problems.
- Receiving, analyzing and preparing a list of applications for the admission of daycare centers, foster care and daycare colleges.
- Receiving, analyzing and preparing a list of requests for the President’s assistance from mothers who gave birth to three or more children at once.
- Receiving, analyzing and preparing a list of requests for orphans or children in need of various aids.
- Receiving, analyzing and preparing a list of various requests from families and people in distress.
- Interrogating and preparing statements of the accused
- Supervising employees in shelters, Vocational training colleges for people with disabilities, Juvenile Prisons and Correctional Schools.

Supply Officer Class II (1 Position)
(a) Qualifications for employment:
- Employed with a Bachelor’s Degree/Higher Diploma in Procurement/Supply from a college recognized by the Government OR With “Professional level III” issued by the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) or other qualifications corresponding to that recognized by PSPTB, who is registered with PSPTB as a “Graduate Procurement and Supplies Professional”
(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates of required equipment (Schedule of Requirements) Prepare the procedure for receiving equipment
- Collecting and maintaining data on the receipt, handling and distribution of equipment Managing the receipt, handling and distribution of equipment (Physical distribution) Designing a system for placing and handling equipment in the warehouse (Location Index Design)
- Prepare various equipment information
- Calculate and report the value of the materials in the warehouse by following the existing procedures
- Prepare documents for receiving equipment
- To provide user equipment (Distribute goods to user departments and other users) To do other tasks in his field that will be assigned by his supervisor
Data Crerk Grade II (1 Position)
(a) Qualifications for Employment:
- Employment of Diploma holders in the fields of Accounting, Record Keeping, Statistics, Medicine from a college recognized by the Government.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transfer data from paper to computer
- Organize existing data in a “spreadsheet”
- Categorize and organize the work in hard copy after completing the input into the computer
- Review data to check for errors and omissions
- To ensure data security all the time (Perform regular database backups to secure data)

Medical Engineer Class II (1 Position)
(a) Qualifications for Employment:
- Employed with an Engineering Degree (Medical Equipment) from a College recognized by the Government who are registered with the Council of Engineers Tanzania.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
- Doing maintenance work on medical equipment at the district level (Electronic Equipments)
- Keeping records of technical work and maintenance of medical equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance of medical equipment
- Supervising the maintenance of medical equipment at the district level
- Ordering medical supplies.
- To prepare a budget for the maintenance of medical equipment at the district level (vii) To do other work assigned by his head of work.
Technologist Grade II-Dental (1 Position)
(a) Qualifications for Employment:
- Employment of Diploma in the field of Technologist Class II – Dentistry from a College recognized by the Government and who are registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council (Medical Council of Tanganyika).
(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
- Taking dental measurements of patients and working on them
- Maintaining medical machinery and equipment and dental laboratory equipment
- Keeping records of patients who come for dental problems
- Design and manufacture of dentures and jaw prostheses

Laundry Level (1 Position)
(a) Qualifications for employment:
- Recruiting fourth form graduates who have completed a two or three year training in the field of Laundry (Laundry Services) from colleges recognized by the Government, and have work experience for a period of not less than 3 years.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
- Doing laundry, drying, ironing and storing clothes.
- Ensuring that supplies such as soap and laundry detergent are available on time
- Analyzing clothes for washing, drying, straightening and packing.
- Giving information to the Supervisor if the clothes are burnt or torn so that it can be dealt with quickly.
- Maintain all equipment related to laundry work
Cooker Class II (2 Position)
(a) Qualifications for employment:
- Recruiting fourth form graduates who have completed training in the field of Cooking from colleges recognized by the Government, and have work experience for a period of not less than 3 years.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
- Doing cooking and preparing food for patients.
- Ensuring that kitchen supplies and necessities such as dish soap, oil, food and other essentials are available on time
- Ensuring cleanliness of the environment, equipment and kitchen utensils at all times
- Providing information to the Manager if the kitchen equipment is damaged or needs to be dealt with on time.
- Maintaining all equipment related to Kitchen/Cooking tasks.
