UDSM Admission System Online 2024-25

Numerous academic programs at the University of Dar es Salaam lead to the awarding of degrees, diplomas, and certificates. The University of Dar es Salaam offers 65 undergraduate degree programs, 3 diploma programs, and 4 certificate programs at its various academic units. Among these are evening study programs, which are primarily intended for working adults, though anyone with the necessary entrance requirements may apply.

The Online Admission System (UDSM-OLAS) at https://udsm.admission.ac.tz/ is used to process all applications. The online system offered via the https://www.udsm.ac.tz/ website contains all application procedures.

All candidates for degrees (both direct and comparable qualifications) and those without degrees must apply using the UDSM-OLAS.

Please do the following actions after loading the admission page on the UDSM-OLAS at https://udsm.admission.ac.tz/:

The admission page has the following features:

Click the UNDERGRADUATE tab, which includes INSTRUCTIONS and REGISTRATION.

Please carefully study the instructions for applying to UDSM’s numerous undergraduate programmes.

Then, proceed to the REGISTRATION tab to set up your admittance account. To register for an account in the UDSM-OLAS, you must submit the following information:

  1. First name
  2. Surname
  3. (Note: Names as they appear in your form four certificate)
  4. Email Address
  5. Mobile Telephone Number

To complete registration, choose a password of your choice, which you will use to log into the UDSM-OLAS.

  • Fill in the characters Captcha as displayed on the page (blue characters).
  • Next, click the REGISTER AS UNDERGRADUATE option to establish an account.
  • If you successfully register an account, the system will send an email to the email address you entered. To activate your admittance account, please log in with your email address. Then, using the URL supplied to your email, log in to the UDSM-OLAS.
  • Your username is your email address, and your password is the password you used when you created your account.
  • Tanzanians pay application fees.
  • When you connect into your account, you will find a message that your account has been successfully activated.
  • Click the My Application button to begin the application.
  • You will be given with four [4] steps to complete the application.

Note: Select programs from the list and indicate your preferred order (e.g., first, second, etc.).

Admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the current academic year.

The University of Dar es Salaam welcomes suitable applicants to apply for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic year 2022/2023. This academic year, the University will offer 88 undergraduate programmes and over 189 postgraduate programmes leading to the award of certificates, diplomas, bachelor degrees, postgraduate diplomas, master’s degrees, and PhDs. The Instructions tab contains all necessary information and guidelines for the application process. The UNDERGRADUATE tab is for certificates, diplomas, and bachelor degrees, while the POSTGRADUATE tab is for postgraduate diplomas, master’s degrees, and PhDs.

Applicants are reminded to enter their names exactly as they appear in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE), including index numbers when required.

Undergraduate applicants with international certificates must first submit their certificates to the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for verification at www.necta.go.tz. NECTA will provide them letters indicating equal grades, which should also be uploaded together with other certificates. Equivalent applicants should get a specific, unique number from the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for verification and application in the system at www.nacte.go.tz.

Postgraduate applicants with foreign certificates must have their certificates confirmed by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) at http://faas.tcu.go.tz/login.php. upon receipt of admission letter and prior to enrolling at the University of Dar es Salaam for studies.
