Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is vested with the responsibility of Maintenance and Development of the Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland. It is also responsible in conducting Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridge scales.

The Regional Manager TANROADS Dodoma on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS is looking for qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacant posts available for construction of four (4) bridges and its approach roads to gravel standard in Dodoma Region. TANROADS therefore intends to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill vacancy posts on specified contract for the aforementioned bridge projects in the following fields.

THE TANZANIA NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY (TANROADS)

POSITION TITTLE: SENIOR ENGINEER (MATERIALS) – (1 POST)

Entry Qualifications:

The candidate must be a citizen of Tanzania, hold a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: structural engineering, highway engineering, transportation engineering, civil engineering, or equivalent training from an accredited institution, and have at least seven (7) years of relevant work experience. must have a Professional Engineer registration with the ERB.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. total oversight of the facility and its experiments, ensuring that the guidelines are followed;
2. Make that the project’s QA/QC processes are being followed. It is necessary to implement the Quality Check list in its entirety.
3. examining, testing, and approving all supplies and finished projects to guarantee adherence to technical specifications;
4. Ascertain that all testing equipment in the laboratories is being properly, consistently, and duly calibrated.
5. Make sure that every permitted material sample is arranged, labeled, and stored correctly inside the samples room on the premises.
6. In addition to maintaining records for all material actions related to the project, prepare daily reports about the work, approved samples, and provided supplies. You should also verify stocks.
7. To provide guidance to the Resident Engineer concerning the on-site applications of materials in addition to quality control;
8. Examine the contractor’s test results and the corresponding reports on the pavement and materials, then offer guidance on the next steps.
