Job Title: IT SUPPORT ENGINEER

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Application Deadline: March 3, 2024

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Install and set up computer hardware, software, networks, and applications.
2. Continuously monitor and maintain systems and networks.
3. Respond to technical support calls from staff members or clients, providing clear instructions on issue resolution.
4. Diagnose and troubleshoot system and network problems, software faults, or hardware complications.
5. Support the implementation of new applications.
6. Record and document issues, along with solutions, for future reference.
7. Provide onsite or remote IT support to clients.
8. Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents.
9. Support, configure, and maintain LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
10. Perform desktop-level fixes, including software installations, upgrades, file backups, and system and application configurations.
11. Log client requests, queries, or support calls and document their outcomes for timely follow-up.
12. Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends to prevent future problems.
13. Test fixes to ensure adequate resolution of issues.
14. Conduct post-resolution follow-ups to support requests.
15. Develop help sheets and knowledge base articles for end users.
16. Perform other duties as directed by the immediate supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions.
2. Fluent in both oral and written English.
3. Ability to independently learn new technologies through web articles, forums, seminars, and training.
4. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Teamworking skills.
6. Logical and strategic thinking.
7. Methodical approach to tasks.
8. Customer service skills.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
