Job Purpose:
The role involves providing comprehensive support to all stakeholders in various aspects of general insurance, encompassing sales, underwriting, reporting, and claims.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide extensive support in implementing the General Insurance strategy.
- Oversee renewals throughout the branch network, aiming to retain 80% of the General Insurance business.
- Proactively identify sales prospects and engage in business development activities.
- Collaborate with the product team to design general insurance products tailored to customer needs.
- Obtain and assess insurance quotations from various companies to ensure competitive policies for customers.
- Offer full support to customers during the claims process.
- Manage relationships with customers, branches, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure the prompt collection of all insurance revenues related to General Insurance.
- Monitor the performance of new products and provide quarterly progress reports.
- Consolidate and prepare monthly and quarterly sales reports on General Insurance performance.
- Actively participate in all business activities organized by the bank to promote cross-selling of insurance products.
- Foster the capacity of the branch sales team, Zonal RMs, and other Bank officers through coaching, mentoring, and support.
- Take responsibility for underwriting and supervise the issuance of quotations from the network.
- Provide technical support to branches on all issues related to General Insurance.
- Collaborate with HQ teams to drive sales and promotional campaigns across zones following the Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Handle all customer complaints regarding General Insurance promptly.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting procedures for all general insurance products.
- Assist the line manager in modifying procedures and documents related to policies as required.
- Provide support to clients during the claims process to ensure SLA compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Provide system support to branches.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in timely follow-ups for insurance renewals.
- Adhere to all bancassurance regulations.
- Assist other departments when insurance assistance is needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Insurance.
- Familiarity with bank products.
- Good understanding of legislation related to bancassurance and banking as a whole.
- Greater understanding of the product life cycle.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good interpersonal and networking skills.
- Strong marketing skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in insurance business or risk management.
- A Master’s Degree/Postgraduate in risk management and insurance business or related business fields is an added advantage.
- Any certification course or training in risk management and insurance business is highly valued.
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in the insurance business with a reputable company.
- Experience in underwriting, claims, and sales of insurance products.
