Known for many years as an area where natural oil seepages occurred, oil was first discovered by drilling in the Lake Albert area of Uganda in 2006. This first discovery led to an extensive period of further exploration and appraisal which was completed in 2014. EACOP Company is being constructed in parallel with two upstream development projects which are not part of EACOP development and investment, known as Tilenga and Kingfisher respectively. Each development will consist of a Central Processing Facility (CPF) to separate and treat the oil, water and gas produced by the wells. Kingfisher will have 4 well pads and a CPF with a peak daily capacity of 42000 bbl/d. Tilenga has 31 wellpads and a 204000 bbl/d CPF. The EACOP pipeline route via Tanzania was confirmed in April 2016 at a summit with the East African Heads of State. In the period 2016-2018 the EACOP route was studied and narrowed down to its final width of 30 metres, allowing to then initiate land surveys and the Environmental and Social Impact Assessments.

The Human Resources Office of Daqing Oilfield Constructions Group Company Limited (DOCG) informs all Tanzanians with the following qualifications and who are ready to work at the Marine Storage Terminal Project (MST) at Chongoleani.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering is an extra benefit, as is an electronics diploma from an accredited school.
- Five years or more of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance in a building site or real estate
- Good interpersonal skills, a strong analytical and problem-solving background, and an enthusiasm for electronics.
- Solid understanding of health and safety laws and the capacity to remain composed under duress.
- Readiness to pick up new skills and take constructive criticism.
- The capacity to perform well under duress.
Responsibilities:
- To arrange for the maintenance, both preventative and corrective, of all the electrical equipment at the Terminal Camp and Marine Tanks.
- Doing routine preventive maintenance and equipment service.
- To put electronic systems and components together and install them.
- To diagnose and locate the necessary spare part for maintaining electrical appliances, as well as to troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery.
- To fix electrical appliances, including air conditioners, steam cabinets, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, ovens, and disinfection cabinets.
- Ensuring that all manual and power tools are used in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Place of Work & Residency
This post will be located in Tanga City’s Chongoleani district. Daqing Oilfield Constructions Group Company Limited (DOCG) will supply food and camp lodgings for these positions in our temporary facilities. If chosen for this role, the candidate must make use of the camp accommodations.
