Job Purpose
To guarantee that customers receive excellent service, plan, organize, and oversee every facet of the overall operation, including the efficient coordination of all internal and external departments like handling agents, caterers, other airlines, and various airport authorities. In the event that the Airport Services Manager is not present, manage and oversee the on-duty personnel, making sure that all pertinent areas of the operation are covered.
Job Outline:
- Examine potential operational issues, such as overbookings, bad weather, delays, cancellations, crew flight time restrictions, etc., and take the appropriate corrective action to minimize disruptions and maintain customer service standards.
- To ensure a smooth operation and prevent needless expenses and inconvenience to our customers, make sure that the handling agent, caterers, and other service providers are fully briefed regarding Emirates requirements for the day’s operation, including any special handling. Update this information as needed.
- Limit the amount of money spent on replacing damaged or lost luggage. Assist the Supervisors/ASAs in handling a portion of the luggage claims procedure so that all baggage services related tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Help ensuring that staffing levels are optimized by helping the airport services manager create and maintain the staff duty roster, as well as the staff annual leave plan, if needed.
- As instructed by the airport services manager, perform a variety of administrative tasks, such as attending meetings and making sure Emirates’ needs and interests are fairly represented.
- Assist the ASM in implementing the Employee Regulation Plan. Employees should receive support, coaching, and mentoring to guarantee that grooming and other standards, such as customer service, are upheld. Perform staff performance reviews in compliance with Performance Matters, which includes developing a development plan and staff objectives.
- In order to protect revenues, operational data, and minimize discrepancies, manage and oversee all operational and supervisory tasks on a shift basis and make sure that procedures linked to document and information consolidation (cargo, handling reports, revenue papers, etc.) are appropriately controlled.
- Monitoring of all operational units (Customer Services, Ticket desk, Ramp and Lounge). Establish a regular reporting mechanism to ensure there is a timely and consistent monitoring of service delivery, across operations. Monitor KPIs for service performance and ensure that these KPI?s are met consistently by each unit.
- Occasionally take on projects related to operational standards and procedures as directed by the Airport Services Manager in order to enhance the effectiveness and caliber of services provided at the station. Help ASM with emergency response planning, or ERP, and related duties.
- Make ensuring that revisions to the Ground Operations Manual and Passenger Service are shared and followed both internally and by pertinent service suppliers. To maintain the delivery of safe and secure operations, promote a culture of safety that is always improving and that includes open reporting of safety flaws, human factor concerns, and adherence to local regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Airport Management. Handling of Passengers:
- At least an A-level or its equivalent in higher secondary education.
- Must have finished appropriate and reputable professional training programs in ground operations and customer service.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of airport experience is needed due to the unique needs at outstations.handling customers and operations, with at least three years spent in a managerial role.
- Knowledge/Skills: A basic understanding of departure control systems, ticketing, and reservations/fares.
- Familiarity with Hazardous Materials Regulations and Weight and Balance. familiarity in handling claims and baggage tracking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and local languages is very advantageous.
- proficiency in the necessary local language as well as spoken and written English.
- Please be aware that living and working in Tanzania requires legal authorization.
